Rundown for Memorial Weekend

We kick off this holiday weekend with a heartfelt thank you to those who have served in the military.  I find it humbling that so many have made tremendous sacrifices so we can have the freedom to enjoy our way of life.

My first guest is Eric Foster of the Michigan Department of Community health.  Eric talks about the large number of ticks this year and what we can do to protect ourselves.

Then Ted Harpham of Darton Archery talks about the slight decline in the number of crossbows being sold and the fact more archers are buying compound bows.  We also talk about his upcoming bear hunt in Quebec with Northern Outfitters.

Tom Campbell of Woods-n-Waternews wraps up the hour with a preview of their June edition.

In the second hour Ken Kelly of Michigan based Magna Port  joins me to talk about porting and muzzle breaks.  Magna Port is known as a pioneer in the field of reduce recoil for handguns, rifles and muzzleloaders.

Whitetail fawns are the next topic of discussion as I talk with Michigan dnr biologist Ashley Autenrieth.  Ashley says those fawns might look abandoned but the doe is nearby and she warns against picking up any baby fawns.

Bass fishing is the subject in hour number three as I talk with Gerry Gostenik of Great Lakes Bass Fishing Guide Service.  Gerry says Michigan has some of the best smallmouth fishing in the country….especially on Lake St. Clair.

We wrap it all up one again with Chef Dixie Dave Minar.  This time Dave has a very nice grilled fish recipe.

It’s a fast paced show filled with great guests and information.  I hop you like it.
