Rundown for This Week’s Radio Show

We kick off the month of November talking  hunting this week on the Outdoor Magazine radio show.

First, Nick Andrews of Scent Lok joins me to talk about that company’s products and how they’ve evolved over the years.

Then Bryan Lowe of the Michigan Buck Pole (MiBuckPole.com) has some great stories about the deer photos posted to their website.

Veteran hunter Tom Lounsbury is the first guest of hour two.  Tom says his pheasant hunting season is going very well but his deer season has been slow so far.

Dave VerBurg wraps up the hour talking about his new Michigan based company called Deer On A String.

The “Whitetail Whisperer”, John Eberhart (DeerJohn.net) is featured in hour three.  John tells the story of his recent mid michigan buck and talks about the challenges of deer hunting in Michigan.

We wrap it all up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar.  This time Dave has a great pheasant recipe.

Rundown for October 24/25

We wrap up the last full weekend in October with some great guests and information.

First Paul Cianciolo of Predator Hunter Outdoors talks about the lineup of his high performance LED lights.  They were originally designed for nighttime predator hunters, but have proven to be valuable for all outdoorsmen and women.

Then Tom Campbell of Woods-n-Waternews talks about the November edition of that popular Michigan based magazine.

Hour two kicks off with Jim Felgenauer of the St Clair Sturgeon  group.  Jim talks about an exciting shore fishery that’s evolved for those big fish.

Next, Chris Freiberger of the Michigan dnr joins me to talk about the latest round of the Aquatic Habitat Grant program.

Greg Gasiciel is up next.  Greg tells the story of catching that new state record smallmouth bass.

The final hour features Tim Roller of the Whitetail Journey television show.  Tim has great advice on hunting the whitetail rut.

We wrap it all up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar.  This week Dave has a very nice duck recipe.

Radio Rundown for October 17/18

This week’s show kicks off with Todd Grischke of the Michigan dnr.  Todd has details on the new Saginaw Bay perch and walleye regulations that are now in effect.

Then Bryan Lowe of the Michigan Buck Pole (MiBuckpole.com) joins me with a great Michigan deer hunting story.

Hour two kicks off with Jon French.  Jon is a veteran who was wounded in combat and now has come up with a way for veterans and others with vision loss to continue to shoot.  His system is called the French Visually Impaired Sighting System (VISS).  You can learn more on Jon’s Facebook page (facebook.com/VISS).

Drew YoungeDyke from mucc is up next.  Drew has another example of their “On the Ground” program in action and talks about the anti hunting movement.

The final hour features “Michigan’s Mr. Walleye”, Mark Martin (MarkMartins.net).  Mark has great advice on targeting fall walleye.  The fishing Hall of Famer also describes what it’s like to hunt deer in west Michigan sand dunes.

Wild game chef Dixie Dave Minar wraps it all up.  This time the chef has a very nice duck recipe.

First “Rocktober” Radio Rundown

Shooting and hearing loss is the opening topic of our second hour as I talk with audiologist and avid hunter Mike Stewart.  Mike has great advice on how to protect your hearing at the range and in the field.

mucc‘s Drew YoungeDyke is up next.  Drew talks about the upcoming advertising campaign to educate Michigan’s non hunting and fishing public.

Outdoor writer and hunting expert Richard P Smith is featured in the final hour of this week’s show.  Richard talks about the Michigan bear season and has an early look at UP deer hunting.

We wrap it all up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar.  This week Dave has an excellent venison recipe.
