Radio Rundown for First Weekend of Summer

We kick off the official summer season with outdoor writer and fishing guide Dave Rose of Wildfishing.com.  Dave talks about the hex hatch and how that affects summertime fishing.

Then Tom Campbell of Woods-n-Waternews has a preview of their July edition and a look ahead to the big Outdoor Weekend in September.

We wrap it all up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar.  This week Dave has another nice fish recipe.

Radio Rundown for Father’s Day Weekend

We kick off this week’s show with Bryan Litz of Applied Ballistics.  That Michigan based company is a leader in the technology of long range shooting.

Then Emily Mallory from the Forward Corporation announces the winner of a fishing trip with Captain Paul Schlafley of Riverside Charters.  Congrats to Julia Gowel of Beaverton.

Sam Morello, president of the Michigan Bow Hunters Association, joins me in hour number two.  Sam talks about the changes in archery over the years and how his group has adapted to that.

Outdoor Magazine Radio Rundown for 6/11

Jeff Poet is the kick off guest on this week’s show.  Jeff is the President of Jays Sporting Goods and a member of the Michigan Wildlife Council.  He talks about the campaign to promote hunting and fishing in Michigan, as well as the outdoor retail business.

Then Karen Cleveland of the Michigan dnr talks about the confusion over changes in the plan to control cormorants in the state.

Hour two kicks off with Ted Harpham of Darton Archery.  Ted discusses their bow and crossbow lineup for 2016.

mucc‘s Drew YoungeDyke  is up next with details of their On The Ground (OTG) program to improve habitat for fish and wildlife across the state.

Fishing educator and TV fishing show host Mark Romanack of Fishing 411 is featured in hour number three.  Mark talks about trolling for open water walleye and the process of testing dive curves on popular fishing lures.

Hour two features SE Michigan fishing guide Mike Schultz of Schultz Outfitters.  Mike has created quite a following fishing for smallmouth on the Huron River.

Katie Keen of the Michigan dnr is up next.  Katie reminds us that bird feeders and garbage  can attract bears into residential areas.

Veteran outdoor writer and angler Dave Mull of Great Lakes Angler (GLAngler.com) and Midwest Outdoors is our featured guest in hour number three.  Dave talks about the evolving fishery in Michigan, why kayaks are a good choice for some anglers and the day his boat went down on Lake Michigan.
