I’m glad to be back in the studio after missing a week while hunting in Kansas with Ed Barton of B & C Kansas Hunts, and the show starts out with a recap of that hunt. I talk about Pat McKenna’s big eight point and the several bucks I had close encounters with while bowhunting.

Then Bill Pyles of Ohio Bowhunting Outfitters joins me with a wrap up on his season in central Ohio. That part of the Buckeye State has become known as a top whitetail destination, and the bucks coming out of there this season should solidify that reputation.

We wrap up the hour with Randy Jorgenson of Woods-n-Waternews. Randy tells us what to expect in the January edition of the magazine.

Next, Lance Valentine of Walleye 101 joins me to talk about ice fishing for walleye. He has some great tips on choosing, and using, electronics for hard water fishing.

Then, I’ve been hearing lots of complaints from Upper Peninsula deer hunters about the high number of wolves they saw this season. To illustrate the wolf problem Kevin Hale joined me to talk about his close encounter with the big predators. Kevin had three of his beagles attacked (two of them were killed) by wolves when he was rabbit hunting in October.

The hour concludes with a segment from me talking about sighting in my new Darton Lightning crosbow. I was very impressed with the performance of that weapon. You can hear my comments on the Outdoor Magazine Facebook page.

Our final hour kicks off with Joe Marion. Joe is a retired Coast Guard Chief who spent many years specializing in ice rescues and training. He gives us some great tips to stay safe on the ice this winter.

We wrap up the show, as always, with wild game chef Dixie Dave Minar. This week he has a hearty venison dish.

Another busy and informative show….I hope you enjoy it.
