I start out talking about this past week fishing on Saginaw Bay with my Mom and Dad. The fishing was terrible, but the experience was wonderful. I also encourage listeners to use the outdoors as a venue to solidify relationships with friends and family.

Next, Ted Harpham of Darton Archery introduces a contest to name the new Darton crossbow. The winner will receive a nice gift package from Darton.

You can suggest a name on the Darton Archery Facebook page.

Then, Tom Weston joins me to talk about a new app available on the Michigan DNR website. This is a great resource to find campgrounds and boat launches across the Great Lakes State.

The second hour features outdoor writer and expert outdoorsman Tom Lounsbury. This time Tom talks about a variety of topics including his love of fishing small streams for mid summer smallmouth.

In the third hour we visit with Rick Mowery of the Bohning Archery company. Bohning has been in the archery business for sixty years, starting out with a single adhesive. These days the Michigan based company has many products for modern day archers and hunters.

The show wraps up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar. This time Dave has a tasty venison recipe perfect for the grill on this long holiday weekend.

Have a great Independence Day weekend, and I hope you enjoy the show.
