We start out this week’s show talking about the Michigan firearm deer season.  600,000 hunters are expected to hit the woods for the two week season and they’ll face a wide variety of conditions across the state.

Then, Michigan’s Meteorologist Mark Torregrossa (FarmerWeather.com) joins me to talk about the early start to the winter season and what we can expect this year (hint…lots of snow and cold).

Bryan Lowe of the Michigan Buck Pole (mibuckpole.com) wraps up the hour talking about that online, virtual buck pole.

We switch topics to kick off the second hour as I talk with outdoor writer and fishing guide Dave Rose (wild fishing.com).  Days says there’s some good whitefish action off the piers this time of year and has advice on how to catch them.

Then it back to whitetails as Rob Miller of the Michigan Deer Trackn Hounds  joins me to talk about using dogs to find wounded animals.  Here’s a list of Michigan trackers.

Noted outdoor writer and expert whitetail hunter Richard P Smith  is featured in hour number three.  Richard talks about how the deep early season snow could affect UP deer and hunters.

We wrap it all up with chef Dixie Dave Minar.  This week Dave talks about the importance of getting the tenderloins from and animal and has a great recipe for how to cook them.

Primarily a whitetail theme this week in honor of Michigan’s opener, but enough variety to appeal to  lots of folks who love the outdoors.  I hope you like the show.
