Show Rundown for June 10/11

Charter Captain John Roby of Chain Tail Charters (charterfishingmackinaw.com) is my first guest this week.  John talks about fishing lake trout and salmon in the straits.  He says the fishing off Mackinac Island and under the Big Mac bridge can be very good.

We continue the fishing theme in hour two with Brad Dupuie of Angler Qwest Boats.  Brad talks about the growth and evolution of that Michigan made fishing tritoon.  He also has some tips  on trolling spoons for open water walleye.

Shane Rubyonis of DreamWeaver Lures is up next.  Shane talks about the history of his company and how they continue to come up with spoons and colors that consistently catch fish.

In hour three veteran outdoor writer and outdoorsman Tom Lounsbury is featured.  Tom describes his recent turkey hunting trip where he called in a nice bird for a first time lady turkey hunter.

Wild game chef Dixie Dave Minar wraps it up once again.  This time Dave has a nice fish recipe.

I hope you like the show.

Podcast Reaches Another Milestone

New Logo

Michigan’s most popular outdoor radio show continues to set new standards.

Host and producer Mike Avery is pleased to announce the podcast version of the show has been downloaded more than ONE MILLION times in the past twelve months.

“This is a huge milestone for the Outdoor Magazine franchise and I couldn’t be happier”, says the veteran broadcaster.

This latest news continues a trend of growth for Avery’s radio show and podcast.  The broadcast version of the program is now heard on 26 AM and FM stations across Michigan and the podcast is often downloaded more than a hundred thousand times each month.

Avery, who spent many years in outdoor television, says “While some forms of outdoor media are struggling, radio and podcasting continue to gain audience and offer a tremendous advertising value.”

The Outdoor Magazine podcast can be heard on iTunes, Mike’s website (MikeAveryOutdoors.com), the facebook page (facebook.com/OutdoorMagazine) and the mobile app for android and iPhones.  The podcast is also available on several additional outdoor related websites.
