Hour two kicks off with veteran Lake St. Clair angler Jim Felgenauer. Jim talks about perch fishing on the lake and also the time honored tradition of spearing perch on that body of water.
Michigan’s Meteorologist Mark Torregrossa of MLive joins me next. Mark says this bitter cold weather pattern is likely to continue through the winter.
Angler Qwest‘s Brad Dupuie is up next. Brad talks about his company’s presence at boat shows this season and also expansion of the Angler Qwest plant.
In hour three one of my favorite guests joins me. Veteran outdoorsman and outdoor writer Tom Lounsbury talks about his fall hunting season and looks ahead to wintertime rabbit hunting.
We wrap it up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar. This time Dave has a very unusual bobcat recipe.

We start out this week’s Outdoor Magazine show with a conversation about the latest on CWD with Chad Stewart of the Michigan dnr. More cases are being found and Chad says its important hunters continue to submit their deer for sampling through the rest of the season.
Then Randy Jorgenson of Woods-n-Waternews talks about that publication and how they got started more than thirty years ago.
Hour two features veteran beagle man Corky Leque. Corky talks about the appeal of running bunnies with beagles and describes the differences in hunting beagles.
Next, Amy Trotter from mucc has an update on her organization and what they’re doing to protect our natural resources and promote the outdoor lifestyle.
In hour number three I talk with veteran outdoor writer and hunting expert Richard P Smith. Richard talks about his deer season so far, and deer hunting across the UP this year.

The topic turns more serious with our next guest. Drew YoungeDyke of mucc and Citizens for Professional Wildlife Management (CitizensWildlife.com) discusses the progress on the petition to fight anti hunters in Michigan. He also reminds us exactly what that drive is intended to do.
We head out on the ice for hour number three as I talk with Jim Felgenauer. Jim is a veteran ice angler who loves to fish for Lake St. Clair perch. He also has a passion for spearing yellow bellies….something you can only do on Lake St. Clair.
We wrap it all up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar. Dave’s feeling better after a heart attack three weeks ago and he has a hearty rabbit recipe for us.

Next, Tim Hart of Q1 Buckpole joins me with a look at some recent entries in that contest.
The second hour features outdoor writer and fishing guide Dave Rose of Wildfishing. Dave has great insight into late fall angling action and the transition into the ice fishing season.
The hour wraps up with some Christmas gift suggestions for the hunter and angler on your list….and they’re all from Michigan companies.
The show continues with a look at a Michigan hunting tradition, rabbit hunting with beagles. Veteran rabbit hunter and beagle breeder Corky Legue talks about the appeal of that sport and how to keep the tradition alive.

A diverse and fast paced show this week on Outdoor Magazine radio.
I start out talking about my last Outdoor Magazine television show. That show includes video dating back to the late eighties and it was very interesting for me to look back on that part of my career.
Next, Jim Wale of JW Kennels has some great advice on rabbit hunting with beagles.
Then Mark Romanack of the Fishing 411 show talks about why early season ice fishing for perch and panfish can be so productive. He has some great information on locations, gear and techniques for catching more fish.
Also, a very interesting conversation with Michigan Conservation officer John Borkovich. John has details on finding a group of illegal aliens from Mexico involved in an alleged poaching incident in St. Clair County. That bust turned up several illegal guns, and resulted in 29 charges against 5 men.
Tony Hansen of the Michigan United Conservation Clubs wraps up the second hour with a look back at the firearm deer season. He says there are lots of unhappy hunters in Michigan this year and stresses the importance of filling out the DNR hunter survey.
Bowhunting for late season whitetails is the subject in our final hour with Tim Roller of the Wild Addiction TV Show. Tim says hunting can be very tough this time of year and hunters need to capitalize on the primary instinct of whitetails in the late season….their stomach.
We wrap up with wild game chef Dixie Dave Minar. Dave and I discuss our working relationship going back to the early days of Outdoor Magazine. He also reminds us gift certificates to his restaurant are a great Christmas gift idea.
