We kick off this week’s show talking about early season trolling for salmon and trout on Lake Michigan.  Dan Jordan of Team Anglerfish says the action has been good when you can find warm water.

Then Jeff Van Buren of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation (rmef.org/Michigan) talks about that group’s role in conservation and reminds us this is the 100th anniversary of elk in Michigan.

Food plots are the first topic in hour two this week.  Nick Percy of Michigan based Killer Food Plots joins me to talk about the importance of soil testing and planting the right seeds.

Next, Nick Green from mucc raises the question of what will happen to conservation projects if hunter license fees drop over fears of CWD.

The hour wraps up with “Michigan’s Meteorologist” Mark Torregrossa of MLive.com and FarmerWeather.com.  Mark takes a look ahead to our springtime weather patterns.  Here’s a hint….it’s gonna be cold.

The final hour of this week’s show features veteran outdoor writer Tom Lounsbury.  It’s always fun to talk with Tom and share stories.  This time, he describes how he was drawn for the very first Michigan turkey hunt, and what that experience was like.

We wrap it all up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar and another great wild game recipe.

I hope you like the show.
