This week on Jay’s Outdoor Magazine we’re heading south to the sunshine state of Florida. First I’ll be hunting axis deer with my bow on the world famous Brady Ranch with Danny SantAngelo of Okeechobee Outfitters.
This is my first time hunting in Florida, and my first axis deer hunt. I didn’t know what to expect, but it was a lot of fun and very different than hunting whitetails.
I also got the chance to hunt hogs for the first time. Though I didn’t get a shot, I did see a pig one night just before dark. I’d like to try hog hunting again sometime.
We wrapped up the trip fishing for big Florida largemouth bass. I’m not much of a bass fisherman but it was an unbelievable day on the water. Danny and I caught several fish over five pounds and we were surrounded by alligators the whole time.
This show is a little out of the ordinary for us on Jay’s Outdoor Magazine, but a lot of fun and I hope you enjoy it.
