Upper Peninsula predators are the opening topic this week as I talk with Cody Norton of the Michigan DNR. Cody says there are at least 700 wolves in the U.P., but probably only two cougars. We also discuss our state’s bear population.

Then Angela Munroe of Mid Michigan Hospital discusses their bariatric program to help people lose weight. I had bariatric surgery almost two years ago and lost more than a hundred pounds. Now, I feel 25 years younger and can enjoy my outdoor activities to the fullest.

Hour two kicks off with houndsman Jordan Farmer. Jordan talks about running bears with dogs and why it’s a great family activity. He also addresses some of the criticism aimed at dog hunters these days.

Charlie Booher of MUCC is up next. Charlie has details on the Great American Outdoors Act.

The hour wraps up with my “Ask Avery” segment. This time, it’s a “twofer”.

Lake Michigan salmon are the topic in the final hour this week as I talk with Captain Dave James of Fish Hunter Charter out of Frankfort. Dave says the fishing has been good, and should get even better over the next couple of weeks.

We wrap it all up with Chef Dave Minar. This time he has a very nice salmon recipe.

I hope you like the show.
