This week we’re heading south on Jay’s Outdoor Magazine.
I’ll be hunting and fishing in Florida with Danny SantAngelos of Okeechobee Outfitters.
First, I’ll be bowhunting for axis deer on the world famous Brady Ranch. I’ve never hunted exotics before, so I didn’t have any idea what to expect.
I found them to be extremely skittish, and surprisingly hard to hunt, but after several close encounters I managed to put down a trophy buck. You can see an excerpt from that hunt by clicking here.
I also got the chance to hunt hogs for the first time. We saw a little one just before dark, but no shooters showed up.
Danny showed us some great fishing action too. We jumped on an airboat and headed for one of his trophy bass spots where we caught lots of big largemouths.
We saw lots of alligators too…that was quite a thrill for this northern guy.
