We wrap up the month with some interesting guests and topics.
First, Tony Demboski of the Upper Peninsula Sportsmen’s Alliance joins me to talk about CWD in the Yoop and how the DNR is handling the disease. We also discuss the extreme winter and how that will affect the U.P. deer herd.
Then Jason Wolverton of the Forward Corporation has details on an upcoming give away for a walleye fishing trip on Saginaw Bay with Captain Jeff Godi.

Jeff Godi from the Michigan Experience Charters wraps up the hour with more info on what that winner of that contest can expect.
Hour two kicks off with Ed Pearce from the Michigan DNR. Ed describes the walleye egg taking operation on the Muskegon River and why the process is important to the state’s walleye fishery.
MUCC‘s Nick Green is up next. Nick talks about proposed legislation that could impact the state’s hunters and anglers.
Then, George Lynch of Walleye for Warriors joins me to talk about that yearly event on Saginaw Bay. He says it’s time for veterans to sign up on the website.

We’re talking springtime steelhead fishing in the final hour this week.

Former fishing guide Tim Roller of Whitetail Journey talks about the importance of water temperature and how that affects the fish.
Wild game cooking is the next topic as I chat with Chef Dixie Dave Minar. Dave describes his early days as a chef on a private yacht in Florida. Then, Dave has a very nice steelhead recipe.
I hope you like the show.
Mike,
My name is Lowell Petzoldt. I’m a teacher at St John Lutheran School, outside Napoleon, Ohio. I’ve been here for 40 plus years.
Ken Ruff, one of your fellow parishioners, shared with me that you have nice Radio podcast. I’ve been listening to some of those, They are kind of neat. I had Ken’s kids in my classroom they were a lot of fun.
I do a lot of outdoor ed projects and one of them that I do is making deer jerky the way that Native Americans did thousands of years ago, I make the jerky on a wooden grill. We put the deer sliceses in between fruitwood sticks and pin them So they don’t move or tdoorsfall out of the sticks. We then hang them hang on the wooden Grill.
Ken rough one of your fellow parishioners and monitor shared with me that you have nice Radio podcast so I’ve been listening to some of those those are kind of neat.
With all the years of you doing the podcast and talking to deer hunters you probably have come across a dry rub deer jerky recipe . Would you have a recipe that I could use with my students? Or would chef Dixie have one?
Ken shared with me that you are the chairman of your congregation. Someday I would like to talk to you about how to keep members in the congregation. I am serving also on a shepherd’s committee to help restore membership of parishioners that have not been coming to church.
Fisher of Men,
Lowell Petzoldt
