We kick off the new year with another good show on Outdoor Magazine Radio this weekend.
First, I talk about my recent hunting adventures for whitetails in Michigan using a Darton Lightning Crossbow. Hunting with a crossbow is different than using a compound and I’ll tell you why.
Then, Adam Starr of Showspan joins me to talk about the upcoming show season. Showspan is one of the midwest’s biggest producers of hunting and fishing shows. That season kicks off in Novi at the Ultimate Fishing Show in just a few days.
Next, Tom Campbell of Woods-n-Waternews wraps up the hour talking about hunting and fishing in Michigan this time of year.
In our second hour, we talk about a sport that’s growing fast….predator hunting. Blaine Bailor of Jay’s Sporting Goods joins me with some advice on how to get started.
Then Mark Romanack of Fishing 411 and Precision Angling picks up the Outdoor Magazine phone line to talk about the new season of his show on Sportsman Channel.
Our third hour continues with a fishing theme as I talk with Dave Rose of WildFishing.com. Dave is an outdoor writer and fishing guide who specializes in the northwest part of Michigan. He has some great advice on panfishing through the ice.
We wrap up the show with Chef Dixie Dave Minar. We didn’t do a recipe this week, instead Dave brings us up to speed on the launch of his new line of wild game soups.
A busy show to kick off 2010. I hope you enjoy it.
Mike:
Your segment about the baiting issue left me cold. It would be sad if the DNR would not allow baiting again just to save face. If they were wrong to stop it for the reasons stated than own up to it and move on. Baiting in all of Southern Mich. sould not be stoped just because one deer in pen had CWD. How about doing just what was done in the TB area??? If the DNR want to keep track of who is baiting a lic. for baiting is OK if they don’t charge for it just as with the crossbow lic. YOU need to keep on the DNR for there reckless laws that don’t work and don’t mean anything.
