We kick off the official start of spring the is weekend on the Outdoor Magazine show.

First, Eric Sherwood of Whitetail Select joins me to talk about food plots. This is the time to start thinking about putting in those food plots and Eric has some great advice.

The hour wraps up with Jeff Ford. Jeff is the guy who followed Michigan’s only known wolverine for the past several years. Recently, that animal was found dead and Jeff tells us more about where, and how the wolverine spent it’s days.

The second hour kicks off with Lennie Rezmer of Carbon Express. Lennie has some great advice on choosing the right arrows and broadheads for hunting. He also shares some tips on shooting a crossbow more accurately.

Then Tony Hansen of MUCC and I talk about a crazy proclamation by Michigan’s governor to declare March 20th as a “meatless day”. Tony gives me the details on how the animal rights groups are behind that move.

In our final hour we talk turkey guns with Glen Duncan of Duncans Outdoor Shop. Glen tells me about some of the new turkey loads, and how many hunters are turning away from the specialty turkey guns.

Glen also gives a preview of their big fiftieth anniversary celebration coming up in May.

We wrap up with wild game chef Dixie Dave Minar who’s a little under the weather this week, but still manages to promote his upcoming fundraising wild game dinner.

Another busy show to kick off spring. I hope you enjoy it.
