This weekend on Outdoor Magazine radio I talk about the lies being told by the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). They are running a TV commercial that makes them look like the saviors of injured and abandoned cats and dogs. In reality, they’re an anti hunting group.

Then, Jon LaCorte of Nikon Optics joins me. I think binoculars, rangefinders and rifle scopes are great Christmas gift ideas and Jon has some advice on choosing the right models.

Tim Hart of Q1 Buckpole also joins me in the first hour. Tim brings us up to speed on the latest entries in his contest.

The second hour features retired Coast Guardsman Joe Marion. Joe specialized in cold water safety and rescue techniques. As an avid angler joe has some practical advice on staying out of trouble on the ice.

Tony Hansen of MUCC wraps up the hour with an update on what’s coming out of Lansing, including upcoming changes in the Michigan DNR.

In our final hour we talk steelheading with Jim Chamberlain of Fish With Jim Outfitters. Jim concentrates on the very productive, but little known, rivers in northern Ohio that run into Lake Erie. He says the action there is second to none.

Dixie Dave Minar wraps it up for us with a tasty fish recipe.

Another busy show. I hope you enjoy it.
