First, Captain Paul Schlafley of RiverSide Charters in Manistee joins me with a report from the water of Lake Michigan.  The fishing has been pretty slow this season and Paul says the large number of baitfish is a factor.  His crew manages to hook two fish while talking with me on air though.

Weather is the topic of our second hour in a conversation with meteorologist Mark Torregrossa.  Mark is a weatherman, but also an avid outdoorsman and he has a unique insight in Michigan weather patterns and how to read them.  You can see Mark’s forecast of MLive.com and his website, FarmerWeather.com.

Kent Wood of MUCC wraps up the hour.  This week Kent explains why the Michigan NRC took trapping out of the method of harvest for this fall’s wolf hunt.

Getting ready for archery season is the theme in hour number three as I talk with Derrick Poet of Jays Sporting Goods.  Derrick has some great advice on the hottest new archery gear for the upcoming season.

We wrap it all up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar.  This time Dave has a unusual fish dish….freshwater sheephead.

Another busy show filled with lots of great information.  I hope you like it.
