First, I talk with retired Coastguardsman and avid angler Joe Marion. Joe has a lifetime of experience on big water and shares some great, common sense advice on how to stay safe on the Great Lakes.
Then Roy Dahlgren of the UP Trappers Association joins me to talk about the national trappers convention coming to the UP this summer. Roy wants us to know this information now so we can make summertime travel plans.
Hour two features Captain Jeff Godi of The Michigan Experience fishing charter. Jeff has a technique for trolling big water walleye that’s a lot different than the traditional bottom bouncer and spinner presentation. Jeff runs spoons at high speeds using a variety of presentations.
Next, Drew YoungeDyke of the Michigan United Conservation Clubs (mucc) and Citizens for Professional Wildlife (CitizensWildlife.com) joins me with an update on the petition drive to fight the anti hunters in Michigan. Drew is optimistic we’ll reach our goal but he says don’t forget to send your signed petitions in.
Veteran outdoor writer Tom Lounsbury joins me in hour number three. Tom and I talk about lots of outdoor related topics including turkey hunting, crossbows, bear hunting and more.
As always, we wrap it up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar. This time Dave has a very nice grilled fish recipe.
