My first guest this week is Dr. Dean Beyer of the Michigan dnr. Dean talks about the multi year study of predation on UP whitetail. He says wolves are not as big of a factor as some hunters think. You can learn more about the project on their website….http://fwrc.msstate.edu/carnivore/predatorprey/.
Hour two kicks off with fishing guide and inventor Travis White. Travis combined his passion for fishing with his degree in engineering to create the Pro Nav Marine unit. That high tech piece of equipment uses your cell phone to steer an electric motor.
Then, fisheries biologist Marty Holmgren of the DNR talks about the new fishing exhibit at the Grand Rapids Public Museum (grpm.org). That exhibit on the bank of the Grand River features the river’s sturgeon population.
Fishing educator and outdoor writer Dave Rose of Wild Fishing is featured in the final hour of this week’s show. Dave talks about fishing opportunities this time of year in the north country. He also describes what it takes to break into the world of outdoor writing.
We wrap it all up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar. This time the Chef has a very nice lake trout recipe.
Good guests and information this week. I hope you like the show.
