We kick off this week’s show talking with whitetail tracker Chris Morris of Michigan Deer Trackers. Chris tell an interesting story of his dog Oak being gored by a by a buck they were tracking.
Then Allan Goetz of the Michigan Buck Pole (MiBuckPole.com) joins me to talk about their online community for sharing pictures of Michigan whitetails.
Hour two features expert deer hunter Tim Roller of the Whitetail Journey TV show. Tim targets mature bucks (but he’s not one of those guys who pushes his way of hunting on others). He has some interesting thoughts on what it takes to be successful on trophy animals.
The hour wraps up with Conservation Officer Corporal Dave Painter of the Michigan dnr. The warden talks about staying safe, and legal in the field during this firearm deer season.
The final hour of this week’s show features “Michigan’s Mr. Walleye”, Mark Martin. This time we find Mark on vacation in Hawaii. Mark talks about the excellent marlin and tuna fishing there….as well as the trophy fall fishing back home in Michigan.
We wrap it all up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar. This time Dave has another nice venison recipe.
