This week on the Outdoor Magazine radio show…
We start out with an update on the turkey season so far. I’ll let you know if I’ve been successful yet, then bring you up to speed on a hunt I videotaped in Gladwin County.
Next, I’ll check in with my friend Jim Barta of The Hunter Safety System. Jim is not only a hard core bowhunter, he loves to fish as well. Jim’s on the Detroit River this week after walleye and he’ll let us know how the action is there.
Hour two kicks off with master taxidermist RJ Meyer of The Trophy Room Taxidermy Studio. RJ gives us some tips on how to take care of our turkeys to get the best mount and also things to keep in mind about those trophy fish as well.
RJ does all of my work and he does a great job. I’ll post pictures of some of my mounts here in the future.
Mark Romanack joins us next with a springtime steelhead report. He also talks about his new Starcraft Boat.
This week’s show wraps up with Pat McKenna of Ameristep. I had the pleasure of hunting with Pat for a couple of days on a very interesting turkey adventure. You’ll see that on the Jay’s Outdoor Magazine television show in the next few weeks.
Speaking of Jay’s, Blaine Bailor also joins us this week. He gives us details on the “Food Plot Day” coming up at Jay’s Sporting Goods.
As always, we wrap it up with wild game chef Dixie Dave Minar. This time the chef has another tasty turkey dish.
A fast moving show with lots of great information. I hope you enjoy it.
By the way, if you missed the program on your local radio station, you can listen here anytime.
