You would expect a busy show this time of year, and that’s we have on this weekend’s rundown.
First, Kyle Bonner joins me to talk about the 200 inch buck he shot in Lapeer County, Michigan. This is a great story because Kyle knew the giant was in the area, but never thought he’d get a shot at him.
Then, Judy Black of Lachine tells me about her love for bowhunting and how she shot an impressive fifty five inch moose with her bow in Ontario last month. This lady has quite a trophy room, especially since she just started bowhunting a few years ago.
My next guest is Tom Schneider of Heater Body Suits . With cold weather on the way Tom says hunters can stay warm using his suits in the worst conditions Mother Nature can throw at you. I’m taking mine to Kansas this week and will let you know how I like it.
The second hour kicks off with a good friend of mine, Derrick Poet of Jay’s Sporting Goods. Derrick discusses the fall hunting season so far and talks about the gear hunters are asking for. Archery and gun seasons are included in the conversation.
Then Tony Hansen of Michigan United Conservation Clubs joins me to talk about the departure of Michigan DNRE director Becky Humphries. We also discuss a proposal to drop Michigan’s minimum hunting age.
For the final hour we head west to Kansas and talk with Ed Barton of B and C Kansas Hunts. Ed tells me about his operation and Kansas whitetail hunting in general. I have high hopes for my Kansas hunt coming up in just a few days.
As always, Chef Dixie Dave Minar helps us wrap up the show. This week Dave has another tasty venison recipe.
I told you it was a busy show. I hope you enjoy it.
