This week on the Outdoor Magazine radio show…..

My first guest is Glenn Duncan of Duncan’s Outdoor Shop in Bay City.  We talked about the current ammunition shortage and the causes for it.  Glenn also told me about the rise in ammo prices and shortage in some gun models.

Next, Tom Campbell of Woods-n-Waternews joined me.  Tom is a hard core turkey hunter so we talked about the upcoming season.

Hour two starts out with charter captain Gary Schaefer of Trout Scout Charter in Manistee.  Gary told me about the finer points of early season trolling for brown trout.  We also talked about the transition to fishing for king salmon later in the season.

Our fishing conversations continue with Mark Romanack of  Precision Angling and Fishing 411.  Mark and I discussed the action on Lake Erie and Detroit River.  Later, our conversation turned to the topic of choosing the right binoculars for your needs.

Turkey hunting is the topic for the beginning of hour three.  Chet Loar of Star Creek Guide Service joins me.  Chet is the best turkey hunter I know.  Each season he guides more than thirty hunters on successful hunts.  Chet told me the importance of scouting and he stressed the finer points of calling.

Finally, we wrapped up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar.  Dave has moved his operation to the Clio Country Club, but he still joins us each week with a great tasting wild game recipe.

Another good show…..I hope you enjoy it.
