This week’s Outdoor Magazine show is a little different than most. This time we have video cameras in the studio. You can learn more about that here.
I started the show out by talking about those cameras, and what we plan to do with them.
Then the conversation turned to the topic of forest fires. This is the time of year when uncontrolled fires are a big threat across the Michigan woodlands. Paul Kollmeyer of the Michigan DNR joined me to talk about preventing those fires.
Our first hour wraps up with Randy Jorgenson of the Woods-n-Waternews. Like many of us, Tom is getting ready for turkey season.
This is also the time of year to work on food plots. Eric Sherwood of Whitetail Select is an expert in that area, and he joins us in hour two with some tips on getting started.
Next, Mark Romanack of Precision Angling and Fishing 411 jumps on the phone line. This week we talk about steelhead fishing on the Manistee River below Tippy Dam.
Hour three sees us continue the fishing theme with Terry Weber of Michigan Stinger Lures. Terry is a veteran Great Lakes Angler and an expert when it comes to trolling spoons. He shares his thoughts on the status of the Lake Michigan salmon fishery and gives us some tips on catching for fish.
Finally, we wrap up this week with my friend and expert wild game chef Dixie Dave MInar. Dave has a very nice turkey recipe for us.
Another busy springtime show. I hope you enjoy it.
