I start out the show by talking about Dads on this Fathers Day weekend. Dads play a big role in our world today. If you’re a Dad, I hope you get a chance to enjoy the weekend. If you know a Dad…give him a big hug.

Then, Scott DeVuyst of the Open Air Mavericks charter service joins me to talk about walleye fishing on Saginaw Bay so far this summer season. Scott says the action in deeper water has been consistently good lately with crawlers and spinner blades. The shallow water has not been as productive for many anglers.

Tom Campbell of Woods-n-Waternews wraps the hour up with a look at the July edition of their magazine.

The second hour features one of my favorite guests, Richard P. Smith. Richard is an outdoor writer and author who is considered an expert on black bear and whitetails. This time Richard talks about the risk of TB in Michigan’s deer herd and how he believes the DNR’s management plan will cause the problem to escalate.

Tony Hansen of the Michigan United Conservation Clubs follows next. I ask Tony if his calm and easy going demeanor is a hinderance in getting the job done.

The final hour features Jim Lombardi of Buck Fever Synthetic Scents. Jim explains why it’s not too early to start setting up “deer traps” and describes how the process works.

As always, we wrap up the show with wild game chef Dixie Dave Minar. This time Dave has a tasty trout recipe.

A very interesting and fast paced show this week. I hope you enjoy it.
