Another busy show this week as we celebrate Easter and springtime in Michigan.
First Tim Roller of Ultimate Outfitters guide service joins me to talk about flyfishing in the Great Lakes State. Michigan was recently named the top flyfishing state in the country by Field and Stream Magazine. As a veteran flyfisherman, Roller agrees with that designation and talks about the opportunities here.
We also discuss a new outdoor television show that features deer hunters who don’t kill the animals they shoot. We both agree it’s a bad idea.
In the second hour angler Brandon Connor joins me to talk about a huge walleye he caught in Michigan’s Grand River. The fish was almost eighteen pounds and would have been a state record if caught during the open season. Instead, Brandon had to release the fish.
Eric Sherwood of Whitetail Select is my next guest. Eric explains how the late spring is affecting food plot preparation. He says as long as the cold weather doesn’t extend into May, there will be time to get those plots in this spring.
The hour wraps up with Tony Hansen of the Michigan United Conservation Clubs. This week he brings us up to speed with the latest information on the delisting of Wolves.
The third hour features one of my favorite guests….outdoor writer and author Richard P. Smith. Richard talks about preparations for a Michigan moose season and several other wildlife related issues.
The show wraps up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar. This time he has a great tasting turkey recipe.
Another fast paced show. I hope you enjoy it.
