We celebrate the unofficial end of summer this weekend on Outdoor Magazine Radio and turn our attention to early fall activities.

First, Dave Rose of Wild Fishing joins me with some advice on where to go for some great fishing action as the seasons change. He also talks about techniques and strategies to capitalize on this transition period.

Then Tom Campbell of Woods-n-Waternews wraps up the hour with some last minute details on their big Outdoor Weekend coming up next week.

The second hour features long time friend Lennie Rezmer of Carbon Express. Lennie is a pioneer in the research and manufacturing of carbon shafts. He’s responsible for many of CX most popular products and his expertise is recognized across the industry.

Lennie has some great advice on choosing the right arrows and broadheads…and he has a sneak peak of what’s coming up from Carbon Express next year.

Laura Scharich of the Michigan Crossbow Federation is my next guest. The MCF was just awarded a tax exempt status so that group is now able to more actively promote crossbows and raise money for their efforts.

The hour wraps up with Tony Hansen of the Michigan United Conservation Clubs. Tony explains why his group promoted a “meet and greet” with Michigan Senator Debbie Stabenow….a person not known to be on the side of hunters and shooters.

Hour three kicks off with one of the brightest new stars in the world of outdoor television. Chris Keefer is the co-host of Back Country Quest, along with his brother Casey. At the time of that conversation, the Michigan guys were getting ready for a month long adventure into the Alaskan wilderness. The entire trip will be documented for a new show schedule to air on Sportsman Channel next spring. You can follow their trip on the Realtree facebook page.

The show wraps up once again with Chef Dixie Dave Minar. This time he has some suggestions on what to do with the venison left in your freezer.

Another busy show, I hope you enjoy it.
