We kick off June this weekend on the Outdoor Magazine radio show.

First, I talk about a recent fishing trip on Saginaw Bay, finding an old recurve bow my Dad made and how those two events illustrate our outdoor heritage in Michigan.

You can hear those comments by clicking here.

Next, Tom Huggler joined the program.  He talked about an upcoming Outdoor Writer conference in Grand Rapids.

We wrapped up the first hour with Randy Jorgenson of the Woods-n-Waternews.  Randy gave us some advice on how to break into the outdoor writing business.

Outdoor writer turned fishing guide Dave Rose kicks off the second hour.  Dave owns the Wild Fishing Guide Service near Traverse City.   Dave specializes in rivers and inland lakes.  He had some great information and advice.

Mark Romanack of Precision Angling and Fishing 411 was up next.  Mark discussed his plans for a Saskatchewan bear hunt.  The topic of strong winds and how they’ve interfered with fishing this spring also came up.

The topic of food plots kicked off our final hour.  Eric Sherwood of Whitetail Select told us the window of opportunity for springtime planting has almost closed.  Cool temperatures have helped to extend that season.  Then he talked about fall planting for folks who don’t get their seed in right now.

Next, I talked about that old recurve again.  It’s a piece of gear that means a lot to me and you can hear more comments about it by clicking here.

We wrapped up the show with Dixie Dave Minar.  He tells us about a new process for packaging the wild game soups he plans to have on the market very soon.

Another busy show.  I hope you enjoy it….
