Lots of fishing talk this week on Outdoor Magazine Radio.

First, Captain Paul Schlafley of Riverside Charters in Manistee joins me to talk about the springtime steelhead run and early season trolling action on the Big Lake.

Then, Jason Wolverton of the Forward Corporation has details on how to win a fishing trip with Paul, just by shopping at a Forward Convenience store.

“Chairman of the Boards”, Bruce DeShano of Off Shore Tackle kicks off the second hour.

Bruce describes how he started the company and where it is today. DeShano also talks about trolling, and why it’s such an effective way to catch fish.

Emily Sewell from the Michigan DNR is up next. Emily reminds hunters that TB is still a problem in the North East Michigan deer herd and talks about a voluntary program to increase monitoring for the disease.

Avid fisherman Dave Mull is featured in the final hour of the show.

Dave tells the story of how his boat took water over the transom and went to the bottom of Lake Michigan while he was fishing for salmon a few years ago.

Mull says he learned from that situation and has great advice on how other anglers can stay safe.

We wrap it all up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar. This time Dave has another very nice recipe.

I hope you like the show.
