Spring bear hunting is the opening topic of discussion this week as I talk with Ron St. Louis of Northern Wilderness Bear Outfitters in White River Ontario.  I’ll be heading up to hunt with Ron in just a few weeks.

Plus, Emily Mallory of the Forward Corporation joins me to talk about this month’s promotional giveaway with Capt. Paul Schlafley of Riverside Charters in Manistee.

Then, Paul wraps up the hour with a Lake Michigan fishing report.

Hour two kicks off with Brad Dupuie of Angler Qwest boats.  Brad has been spending a lot of time on southern Lake Michigan lately.  He talks about the fishing action there and how well the tri-toon design handles the big water.

Katie Keen from the Michigan dnr is up next.  Katie reminds Michigan hunters that now is the time to apply for bear and elk tags.  The drawing results will be announced in late June.

We’re talking sturgeon  in the final hour of this week’s show.  Brenda Archambo, the “Sturgeon General” of Sturgeon For Tomorrow, describes the springtime sturgeon  spawning run in the Black River.   She also has advice on how the public can help protect those spawning fish.

We wrap it up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar.  This week Dave has another nice wild turkey recipe.
