I start out the show this week talking about my renewed interest in deer hunting. I realized I need to put all the politics, infighting and shaming behind me and just go hunt deer. It feels great.

Then we hear the story of a UP deer hunter who had a very close encounter with a pack of wolves.

Dave Gould of the Clare School System is up next with details on their “4th Grade Deer Camp” designed to get kids involved in the outdoors and promote the concept of stewardship.

The hour wraps up with Larry Verbowski from Suspension Maxx. Larry talks about their products to lift and level todays trucks for sportsmen.

The second hour kicks off with retired Coastguardsman, Charter Captain and avid outdoorsman Joe Marion. Joe talks about staying safe in the outdoors, especially for late season open water hunters and anglers. We also discuss the dangers of becoming complacent on the ice.

Ian Fitzgerald from MUCC is up next. Ian has an update on the status of proposed commercial fishing legislation.

Michigan’s “Mr. Walleye” Mark Martin is featured in the final hour this week. Mark talks about deer hunting in West Michigan sand dunes and his upcoming “Fishing Vacation Schools“.

We wrap it up with Chef Dave Minar and another great wild game recipe.
