A fast paced and very interesting show this week.
First, I talk with Ron McKendrick of the Renegade Ranch. Ron is the owner of a northern Michigan wild boar hunting operation. Those pigs were recently declared an invasive species by the Michigan DNR and Ron is at the center of a legal battle.
Then, Ed Golder of the DNR joins me to give the Department’s side of the story. You can hear those conversations on the Outdoor Magazine Facebook page.
The second hour features Derrick Poet of Jay’s Sporting Goods. Derrick is an expert turkey hunter, but this week he has advice for beginning hunters.
Bob Lindquist of the Action Track Chair is my last guest of the hour. Bob explains the benefits of that all terrain, motorized vehicle designed for outdoorsmen and women.
The final hour of this week’s show features an old friend of mine, Tim Roller of Ultimate Outfitters. Tim and I talk about springtime fly fishing for trout and whether the traditional trout season opener is a big deal these days.
Wild game chef Dixie Dave Minar wraps it all up with a great turkey recipe.
Another busy and informative show. I hope you enjoy it.
How do we know when the morals are up in mid-Mich……We look in some of favorite places but some times they could not be there but up at other locals. If we knew they were up…..we would spend 1-2 days looking. …Do you post this infro on any of you web sites.
Hi John, morels seem to be one of those closely guarded secrets. It’s kind of a mystery when and where they’ll pop up. If someone posts on the Facebook page more info I’ll be happy to share it, and if I hear anything I’ll pass it along. Good luck.
