There’s another busy show this week on Outdoor Magazine radio.

First, Al Herman of the Michigan Friends of NRA joins me to talk about that group and why it’s especially important to get involved now.

Then, Huron County dairy farmer Elmer Guigar tells the story of seeing an animal he says is a wolverine. Elmer’s claim is quite credible because he has pictures of tracks the animal left in the snow and because Elmer lives a short distance from where the original thumb wolverine was spotted.

Hour number two features outdoor writer and veteran Michigan angler Steve Griffin. Steve talks about this crazy ice fishing season and has some great advice for anglers chasing panfish on inland lakes.

Tony Hansen of MUCC closes out the hour talking about how the Humane Society of the United States (HSUS) is targeting Michigan’s hunters under the disguise of protecting the state’s wolf population.

We head north in hour three to northern Quebec to talk with Pierre Smarlack. Pierre is the head guide at Northern Outfitters near Val-d’or. Northern Outfitters is a great destination for bear and moose hunters, as well as pike and walleye anglers.

I shot a nice bear there last spring and will head up again this May.

We wrap it all up once again with Chef Dixie Dave Minar. This week Dave has a hearty rabbit recipe.

Another busy show, I hope you like it.
