Bear hunting and fishing are the theme this week on Outdoor Magazine Radio.
First, I tell the story of my Quebec bear hunt with Northern-Outfitters. I shot a nice bear there and had a great time on the trip.
Then, Scott Szafranski of the Linwood Beach Marina on Saginaw Bay joins me with a walleye fishing report.
Nels Larsen of the Walleyes For Warriors event is up next. Nels will take advantage of that great Saginaw Bay fishing to honor a group of veterans and take them fishing on Father’s Day.
The hour wraps up with Tom Campbell of Woods-n-Waternews. Tom and I discuss the importance of freelance outdoors to the success of his magazine.
In the second hour we feature one of the Great Lake’s top angling adventures….lake trout fishing on Stannard Rock. Captain Dave Kimar of Kimars Charters joins me to talk about that Lake Superior destination.
Then, Tony Hansen of MUCC has yet another update on the Michigan wolf hunt and plans by HSUS to try to stop the harvest.
Bass fishing in Michigan is the topic in our final hour as I talk with Jerry Gostenik of the GreatLakesBassFishing Charter Service. Jerry says our state is one of the best in the country for great smallmouth action.
The show wraps up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar. This week Dave has a great bear stew recipe.
Great guests and lots of great information this week on Outdoor Magazine Radio. I hope you like it.
