Lots of hunting related topics this week on Outdoor Magazine Radio….and some ice fishing too.
First, Michigan wolf and hog hunter Nick Ostroski joins me. Nick was successful in his Michigan wolf hunt, but he says many hunters are using the wrong techniques. Nick has some suggestions to help Michigan wolf hunters reach the quota of 43 animals.
Then Tom Campbell of Woods-n-Waternews discusses the slow firearm deer season and the December edition of their magazine.
Hour number two features veteran predator hunter Blaine Bailer. Blaine has great advice on getting started in that rapidly growing wintertime sport.
Next, Drew YoungeDyke of mucc joins me. Drew talks about the “Colorado model” of hunting and fishing promotion. He also details a petition drive by the Citizens for Professional Wildlife Management to fight the anti hunters in Michigan. You can learn more about that program at CitizensWildlife.com.
Mike Horswill of Jays Sporting Goods kicks off the third hour of this week’s show. Mike is the manager of the fishing department in their Clare store and he previews some very cool new ice fishing gear for this season.
We wrap it up once again with Chef Dixie Dave Minar. This time Dave has a hearty venison stew recipe.
Another show filled with great guests and information. I hope you like it.
I know Mike Horswell personally and he is a great addition to the jays staff and would not support a product he wouldn’t use himself.
This is the first time I’ve had Mike on the show. He did a great job and I’ll be happy to talk with him again in the future.
