We kick off the month of February with some interesting guests and topics this week on the Outdoor Magazine Radio Show.
First, “Michigan’s Meteorologist” Mark Torregrossa joins me to talk about what else….the weather. Mark told me last fall it was going to be a cold, snowy winter. Now he says don’t look for an early spring this year. You can read Mark’s forecasts online at MLive.com/weather. His website is FarmerWeather.com.
Tom Campbell of Woods-n-Waternews.com wraps up the hour with a look at topics of interest in the outdoor news.
“Beagles and Bunnies” is the main topic of hour number two as I talk with veteran hunter and beagle man Corky Legue. Corky grew up hunting rabbits with beagles and he has great advice on that Michigan outdoor tradition.
The topic turns more serious with our next guest. Drew YoungeDyke of mucc and Citizens for Professional Wildlife Management (CitizensWildlife.com) discusses the progress on the petition to fight anti hunters in Michigan. He also reminds us exactly what that drive is intended to do.
We head out on the ice for hour number three as I talk with Jim Felgenauer. Jim is a veteran ice angler who loves to fish for Lake St. Clair perch. He also has a passion for spearing yellow bellies….something you can only do on Lake St. Clair.
We wrap it all up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar. Dave’s feeling better after a heart attack three weeks ago and he has a hearty rabbit recipe for us.
A busy show filled with great guests and interesting topics. Seems like a good way to kick off a new month……
