We kick off this week’s show talking with Michigan dnr fisheries biologist Todd Grischke about changes in the works for the Saginaw Bay walleye fishery. Those will likely include decreasing the size limit and increasing the daily creel limit for walleye. Those regulations would go into affect for 2016.
Scott Sczafranski of the Linwood Beach Marina on Saginaw Bay is up next with an ice and fish in report, as well as reaction to those proposed walleye regulations.
Hour two kicks off with angler Dusty C0mpton. Dusty became well know in Michigan ice fishing circles as pictures of his big pike were seen on several internet sites and Facebook pages. Dusty has great advice on what it takes to consistently catch big pike through the ice.
Then Mike Smalligan of the Michigan DNR has info on their Forest Stewardship Program.
Brad Dupuie of Apex Marine wraps up the hour with news of a big award their Angler Qwest boat received at the Miami Boat Show.
Outdoor writer and wildlife expert Richard P Smith is featured in hour number three. Richard talks about how the UP whitetails are doing this winter, the habits of denned black bears and deer management in Michigan.
We wrap it all up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar. This time Dave reaches into the archives for a crow recipe.
It’s a fast paced show this week filled with great guests and information. I hope you like it.
