Outdoor writer and veteran outdoorsman Dan Donarski is my first guest this week. Dan has a hunting and fishing report from the Eastern UP.

Then Nick Grillo of Michigan Brand Meats announces a new hunter stick named after me. It’s a peppered elk stick called the “Mike Avery Hunter Stick”

Hour 2 kicks off with Al Stewart of the Michigan DNR. Al is an upland game bird specialist and avid hunter. Al talks about the upcoming grouse and woodcock seasons. Then he discusses fall turkey hunting tactics and the future of pheasant hunting in Michigan.

The hour wraps up with Jason Wolverton from the Forward Corporation. Jason has details of the grand opening celebration of their new superstore in Gaylord and talks about their fall giveaway programs.

Rob Miller of the Michigan Deer Tracking Network is the featured guest in the final hour this week. Rob is the guy who started the interest in using tracking dogs to recover fatally wounded deer in Michigan.

Wild game chef Dave Minar wraps it all up. This time he has an interesting salmon recipe.

I hope you like the show.
