We’re wrapping up the summer season this week with a wide range of guests and topics.

First, Brian Krupla tells the story of a wolf entering his U.P. backyard and carrying off his beloved beagle. Brian chased that animal into the woods and shot him after the wolf nearly killed the dog, then attacked him.

Tom Campbell of Woods-n-Waternews wraps up the hour with a preview of their big Outdoor Weekend.

We’re talking Michigan elk in the second hour with biologist Brian Mastenbrook of the Michigan DNR. Brian says the next few weeks are a great time to watch the elk herd because it’s mating season and the big bulls are bugling.

Captain Mel Stackpoole of Great Lakes Charter Training is up next with details on his upcoming classes to become a Charter Captain.

Speaking of Charter Captains, Captain Eric Andersen joins me in the third hour this week. Eric is President of the Michigan Charter Boat Association. He talks about that group and also the large number of big king salmon being caught on Lake Michigan.

As always, we wrap it up with Chef Dave Minar and another great wild game recipe.

I hope you like the show.
