It’s a little slower paced show this week but there’s  still lots of great outdoor news and information.

Hour number one features Derrick Poet.  Derrick talks about the importance of patterning your shotgun for turkey season and he has some great tips on how to do it.

We also discuss the importance of your bowstring for greater accuracy and longevity.  Derrick makes custom string for traditional archers, compound shooters and even crossbows.  Here’s the Facebook page for his company. https://www.facebook.com/six11archery.

Walleye fishing is the topic of the second hour this week as Capt. Jeff Godi of The Michigan Experience is my guest.  Jeff has tips on trolling for early season walleye.  We also talk about when to make the transition to trolling spoons and discuss the finer points of that presentation.

We switch gears for hour number three and talk turkeys with hunting guide Chet Loar.  Chet is one of the best turkey hunters I know and he has great advice on pre season scouting and what to do once you find the birds.

This week’s show wraps up with wild game chef Dixie Dave Minar.  This time Dave has a very nice whitefish recipe.

Fewer guests this week, but that means more in depth conversations.  I hope you like it.
