It looks like we’re getting an early start to winter here in Michigan and that’s  a topic of discussion on this week’s Outdoor Magazine Radio Show.

First, I talk with retired Coast Guardsman Joe Marion.  Joe is an expert in cold water rescues and surviving exposure to near freezing water.  He has some great advice for early season ice fisherman.

Next, Tom Campbell of Woods-n-Waternews has a preview of their December edition.

Hour two kicks off with Lance Valentine of Walleye101.  Lance has great advice for catching big fall walleye (if you can get to them before the water freezes over).

Then Assistant michigan dnr Law Enforcement Chief Dean Molnar joins me to talk about the new group of conservation officers in the field for this fall’s firearm deer season.  He also says there’s another big class scheduled to start early next year.

Muzzleloading season is the topic in hour three as I talk with Dave Hildebrandt of Jays Sporting Goods.  Dave says most of today’s muzzleloaders are extremely accurate and he has great advice for getting started in the sport.

We wrap it up once again with Chef Dixie Dave Minar.  This week Dave has a great venison recipe.

Another busy show filled with good guests and information.  I hope you like it.
