We kick off the new month this week on Outdoor Magazine Radio with some interesting guests and topics.

First, MUCC President Tom Heritier talks about the idea of a sandhill crane season in Michigan.  He says there’s growing momentum for such a hunt and thinks it could be a great opportunity for Michigan hunters.

Then Chris Charlton of Auto Interior Decorators talks about the process of installing camouflage Katzkin leather seats in a vehicle.  I put them in my Burt Watson Silverado and love the way they look.

Hour two kicks off with Michigan dnr biologist Brian Mastenbrook.    Brian has details on the latest winter survey of the Michigan elk herd.

Next, Drew YoungeDyke from mucc talks about a plan to sell off federal land.  That proposed legislation has since been withdrawn, but similar bills are still out there.

Tom Beecher from Vanguard wraps up the hour.   Tom describes their new line of hunting scopes and some promotional programs at upcoming outdoor shows in Michigan.

Eric Lafollette from Jays Sporting Goods is featured in the final hour of this week’s show.   Eric  describes how to train your dog to find shed whitetail antlers.  He also talks about the   newest wireless trail cameras and how to use them.

Then we had a nice surprise this week as Wild Game Chef Extraordinaire Dixie Dave Minar stopped by the studio to visit in person and give us an interesting recipe.
