We’re kicking off the month of April this week on Outdoor Magazine Radio.

First, I talk with Drew YoungeDyke of the National Wildlife Federation. Drew talks about how to stay busy and productive during the Covid 19 period. He also discuss how that virus has impacted funding to fight asian carp in the Great Lakes.

Then, Meteorologist Mark Torregrossa of MLive joins me with a look ahead at our springtime weather and Great Lakes water levels.

Hour 2 kicks off with Outdoor Writer and avid angler Dave Mull. Dave spends most of his time on the water these days in a kayak…and he says it’s a great way to fish. Dave has great advice on how to get started and what to look for in a “yak”.

Amy Trotter of MUCC is up next. Amy describes how coronavirus has impacted outdoor related action in Lansing.

We’re talking panfish in our final hour this week with Steve Griffin. Steve says this is a great time of year to start chasing crappies in shallow water. He tells us where to find them and how to catch them. He also looks ahead to the bluegill spawning season and explains why those fish can help us get back to our fishing roots.

We wrap it up with Chef Dave Minar. This time he has a very nice catfish recipe.

I hope you like the show.
