We wrap up the year with a fast paced show this week.
First, Tim Checkeroski of Michigan made G5 Outdoors joins me to talk about their new arrow rest. Tim also hints at some new products to be announced in the next few weeks.
Next, Karl Ieuter of the Ieuter Insurance Group talks about ice fishing and your insurance. There have been rumors that venturing on the ice with a vehicle voids your policy. Karl has the definitive answer.
Tim Hart of the Q1 Buckpole is up next with an update of their Michigan big buck contest.
The second hour features noted outdoor writer Dave Rose of Wildfishing. Dave talks about ice conditions and has some great early season ice angling advice.
Then, Conservation Officer Lt. Skip Hagy of the Michigan dnr joins me to talk about a cougar poaching case in the Upper Peninsula.
Next, Katie Keen from the MIDNR has a reminder about the Pure Michigan Hunt and previews a series of informational vignettes that will air on the Outdoor Magazine radio show.
Retired coast guardsman and ice rescue expert Joe Marion joins me to talk about how to stay safe on the ice. He also has great suggestions on what to do in a worst case scenario.
Chef Dixie Dave Minar wraps it all up with a tasty rabbit recipe.
A fast paced and information show to wrap up 2013. I hope you like it.
Hello Mike I have been a listener of your show. I think you are doing the outdoor sports people well. My concern is the deer population and how it is being managed. I am currently collecting signatures for the wolf, carp etc. issue. am going to set a table at Jay’s in Clare soon. Am also considering printing up some of my concerns what myself and a lot of other people feel could be changed to improve the hunting.
1. one buck per year. 2. shorten the season 3. youth hunt two years maximum per youth, and by the way no child varying their amount of outdoor experience probably 8 will appreciate this experience. 4. greatly reduce the amount of doe tags sold. 5. look to our bordering states for ideas for improvement. I realize our geography is different than other states but it appears the nrc has made people lose respect for the deer and probably they are catering to the insurance lobbying leeches I live in Northern Midland Co. just 4 miles east of where the four counties meet Isa. Glad. and Clare. and not being near crop land it has been getting continually worse the last 10 years. I would love to hear your thoughts, if it would be worth while to start a grass roots petition including my above suggestions Any ideas of what to do would be greatly apprec. Would you be interested in trying to spark some int. on your show. Thank You Tom. Coleman MI
