We celebrate this last weekend before Christmas with a fast paced, informative show.
First, Travis Ockerman of Michigan Predator Quest joins me. Travis is spearheading a statewide predator hunting contest in January. For details go to their Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/events/671614549536601/.
Then, I talk Tim Humes of the Carhartt company. I had no idea Carhartt is a Michigan based company….and has been for 124 years.
Katie Keen of the Michigan dnr is up next. Katie reminds us the deadline to get involved in this year’s Pure Michigan Hunt is December 31st.
The second hour kicks off with spear fisherman Mike Holmes. Mike is the president of the Michigan Darkhouse Association (http://www.mi-darkhouse.org). Mike says the spearing season got an early start this year with good ice across the U.P.
MUCC‘s Erin McDonough wraps up the hour. Erin talks about the important petition drive spearheaded my Citizens for Professional Wildlife Management (CitizensWildlife.com) to fight the anti hunting movement in Michigan.
We turn our attention to the frozen water of Saginaw Bay in hour number three as I talk with Doug Deming of the Fish Point Lodge. Doug talks about perch and walleye fishing on the bay…and his recent recovery of a snowmobile that went through the ice.
The show wraps up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar. This time Dave has a very nice recipe for venison in grape leaves.
Lots of great guests and information in this week’s show. I hope you like it.
