It’s a busy show this week on Outdoor Magazine radio.

First, Chad Stewart, the Big Game Specialist for the Michigan DNR, joins me to talk about the latest on CWD and deer hunting regulations. He explains why the Lower Peninsula bait ban wasn’t lifted, why APR’s are being tried in a CWD zone, the date change for the Liberty hunt and more.

Then, in Hour 2 Jim Felgenauer from the St. Clair Chapter of Sturgeon for Tomorrow describes the thrill of catching a giant sturgeon from the St. Clair River. He says the season is just getting started and the fishing will get better as we get closer to fall.

Jeff Poet is up next. Jeff is with the Michigan Wildlife Council and has an update on the “Here for Generations” campaign to promote hunting and fishing in Michigan.

Mark Dupuie, owner of Apex Marine, wraps up the hour. Mark talks the recent acquisition of Polar Kraft and how those boats will now be added to the Angler Qwest and Qwest Pontoons lineup.

The final hour of this week’s show features UP bear hunter Charlie Grove. Charlie runs hounds and recently lost one of his best dogs to a wolf attack. He describes that experience, and previous encounters with wolves.

Wild game chef Dave Minar wraps it all up once again. This time he has an interesting venison recipe to help you clean out the freezer and get ready for the upcoming season.

I hope you like the show.
