We continue on a hunting theme this week on Outdoor Magazine Radio.

First, Adam Bump, of the Michigan dnr joins me to talk about the wolf hunt.  Adam says the hunt is going well and he’s cautiously optimistic the goal of 43 animals can be reached.  You  can get more information at Michigan.gov/wolves.

Then Tom Campbell of Woods-n-Waternews checks in with a hunting report.  Tom says the action has been pretty slow across the Thumb, and we both agreed it seems to be a slow deer season so far across much of Michigan.

Hour two kicks off with expert deer hunter Greg Abbas.  Greg thinks the rut is very late this year and he has great advice on hunting the late season.  You can learn more about Greg and his company at AwayHunting.com.

Retired Conservation Officer John Borkovich wraps up the hour.  John was instrumental in helping to write new legislation that would increase the penalties for poaching trophy bucks.

Rob Miller of the Michigan Deer Trackn Hounds is the featured guest in hour number three.  Stories of Rob’s tracking dog Sypris are making the rounds in Michigan deer hunting circles and Rob explains how his service works to help hunters retrieve animals.

We wrap it up with Chef Dixie Dave Minar.  Dave doesn’t have a recipe this week, but tells the story of being in the woods when the big storm came through last weekend.

Lots of great information on this week’s show….I hope you like it.
