We kick off a new month with a very busy Outdoor Magazine show.

First, I talk about my renewed frustration with the mandatory antler point restrictions (APR’s) being forced on many michigan hunters.

Then Michigan DNR Deputy Director Bill Moritz about the proposed license fee increases for Michigan hunters and anglers.

Captain Paul Schlafley of Riverside Charters wraps up the hour with a steelhead report from the Manistee River.

My “Michigan Outdoor Legends” series continues in the second hour of this week’s show as I talk with Jon Emmory. Jon is the guy who started Big Jon Downriggers and revolutionized the way Great Lakes anglers troll for salmon and trout.

Tony Hansen of the Michigan United Conservation Clubs wraps up the hour with an explanation of the loophole that allows anti hunting groups (HSUS) to challenge Michigan wildlife management practices.

The final hour features veteran outdoor writer and expert hunter Tom Lounsbury. Tom and I shoot the breeze about a number of outdoor related topics. He also gives me a lesson in springtime crow hunting.

We wrap it up with Wild Game Chef Dixie Dave Minar. Dave talks about some of the fundraising banquets he’s involved in over he next few weeks. He also has a great wild game recipe.

Another fast paced and informational show. I hope you like it.
