Hour two features one of the country’s top whitetail experts…John Ozoga. John is a retired wildlife biologist from the Michigan dnr. He has some very interesting comments about the UP deer herd and what can be done to improve the hunting there.
Drew YoungeDyke of the Michigan United Conservation Clubs (mucc.org) is up next. Drew talks about the importance of deer hunting in our state.
We wrap up the hour talking with Dennis Pace. Dennis is a special curator of the Webster Marble display at the state museum. Marble is called the “UP’s Greatest Inventor” and was responsible for creating the Marble Knife Company. Details at Michigan.gov/museum.
Hour three kicks off with Assistant DNR Law Enforcement Chief Dean Molnar. Dean has advice for hunters on staying safe and legal during this firearm deer season. He also talks about how the job of a Conservation Officer has changed over the years.
