We kick off summer with a good show filled with several Michigan outdoor experts.
First, veteran outdoor broadcaster Bob Garner joins me. Bob will be inducted into the Michigan Conservation Hall of Fame. If you think Bob is just a TV guy, be sure to listen to this conversation and learn how he’s been instrumental in some of our state’s biggest conservation success stories.
Tom Campbell of Woods-n-Waternews wraps up the hour with a look at their July edition.
Whitetail Expert John Eberhart kicks off hour number two. John is regarded as one of Michigan’s premiere whitetail hunters, and he has the numbers to prove it. You can learn more about John and his work on the website DeerJohn.net.
Tony Hansen of MUCC is up next with an update on the proposed license fee increase and another wolf follow up.
The continuing ammo shortage is the topic of conversation hour number three as Glenn Duncan of Duncans Outdoor Shop in Bay City joins me. Glenn says there are some signs the shortage is easing but Michigan has been his especially hard.
We close it out on a fishing theme with Chip Cartwright of Michigan based Wolverine Tackle. Wolverine makes the popular Silver Streak Salmon and Walleye lures. Chip talks about the hot colors so far this season and how they come up with those crazy names.
A fast paced and broad based show this week. I hope you like it.
You should ask Bob if he is aware of SB 163, the Wetland bill just passed by the House and Senate. It will have very serious potential impacts on water quality and threatens to give full control of our wetland laws to the federal government.
Wasn’t aware of this Brian. Thanks for the heads up.
Tony Hansen should also have something to say about the wetland issue, though, as good as MUCC is on most issues, they seem to have fallen down on this one.
I’ll ask him Brian. Thanks.
